Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026.

This policy describes how South Georgia Stays ("South Georgia Stays", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use staysouthgeorgia.com, the direct-booking site for the short and mid-term rental homes we manage in Valdosta, Georgia.

Summary

We collect the information you give us when you create an account, book a stay, write a review, or message our team, plus basic usage data from Google Analytics. We use it to run the reservation service, not to advertise to you. We share it only with the vendors that power the site (Stripe, Supabase, Google, Netlify) and never sell it. You can view, edit, or delete your account at any time.

1. What information do we collect

Information you give us

When you create a guest account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password. A profile photo is optional.

When you book a stay, we keep a record of the property, dates, and price you agreed to pay. If you write a review after checkout, we store your rating, your comment, and the display name attached to it, since reviews are shown publicly on the property page. If you message our team through your account, we keep a copy of that conversation.

We don't collect sensitive information: no government ID, Social Security number, health data, or biometric data.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. It collects your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and an approximate location based on your IP, and it sets its own cookies to do this. We also set a session cookie when you sign in, so you stay logged in as you browse.

2. How we process your information

We use your information to:

We don't send marketing emails, run ads, or build advertising profiles from your data.

3. When and with whom we share your information

We share personal information with the vendors that run parts of our service, not with advertisers or data brokers:

Reviews are the one exception: your display name and review text are visible to anyone who views the property page, since that's the point of a review. If South Georgia Stays is ever acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that deal, under the same protections described here.

We don't sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and other tracking technologies

The site uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and Google Analytics cookies to track site usage. We don't use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we don't have any social media tracking pixels.

5. How we handle social logins

You can sign up or sign in with "Continue with Google". When you do, Google shares your name and email address with us to create your account, and nothing more. We don't offer sign-in with any other social media account.

6. Is your information transferred internationally

South Georgia Stays and the vendors we use (Stripe, Supabase, Google, Netlify) process and store data in the United States. If you're accessing the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we may still need to keep reservation and payment records for as long as tax law requires, but those records are no longer linked to your login.

We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front.

10. Controls for do-not-track features

We don't currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals or Global Privacy Control. We also don't use the kind of cross-site advertising trackers those signals are designed to block, so there's nothing those signals would change on this site today.
